Hi everyone,

Thank you so much to so many of you who have made the commitment to volunteer at the Portland SCAA Expo! We have had an incredible response from the local, national, and international community in terms of volunteering. That is a good thing, since there are a total of 989 volunteer positions to fill at this event!

That said, we still have some needs for Station Instructors/Table Leads for two classes in particular:

RP112 Introduction to Roasting (Saturday, April 21 from 1-5)
GE204 Defect Cupping (Friday, April 20 from 1-5)

The Station Instructor/Table Lead position is critical to our educational curriculum. SI/TLs work with a small group of students during hands-on "station breaks" throughout the course. SI/TL's are typically responsible for 6-8 students. Since this is such an important educational interaction for the students, only SCAA Certified Instructors (participation in the Instructor Development Program) are eligible to volunteer for this position. SI/TLs receive Certification Credit when they volunteer. In this case, RP112 is a required credit for Level 1, and GE204 is a course that can apply for the Sensory Skills portion of the RG Certification, Level 2. Both of these classes typically sell out and are usually among the most highly reviewed/rated among attendees.

If you have questions about class content, please email me at elliem at scaa dot org, or if you want to sign up you can do so when you register at http://www.scaaevent.org/ or by emailing our Volunteers Coordinator Renee Espinoza, at volunteers at scaa dot org. Thanks!
