Hey All!
I'm curious to know if anyone here might have info on courses or books with regard to the business side of roasting? Any suggestions would be most appreciated! Thanks!

Hey Christian,
what part of the business of coffee roasting are you curious about? There are Contracts classes, and we are currently putting together a lecture on inventory management. This year at retreat we also had a class about the economics on the coffee farm and the cost of quality. So, most of that is fairly supply side focused, are you looking for classes on marketing or sales? If you can let us know what types of business classes that you're looking for, it would definitely help us choose what classes still need building.

I'm interested in the class/lecture on inventory management. I'm curious when this class will be offered and where it will be held. Thank you.

Best,

Hey Chris,
We are interested in courses that would discuss capital investment strategies for a small (but intending to grow) coffee roasting business. For instance, do we invest in in-house grinding/packaging equipment vs grinders/brewers for wholesale restaurant/cafe accounts vs putting money into sales/marketing first and worry about the production issues after as we get the accounts. "Growing a small coffee roastery - getting the best bang for your investment buck" something like that.

Thanks
Christian
