About the Position
The Director of Coffee is a key member of the senior management team of our dynamic and growing small business. Candidate is expected to manage all aspects of the coffee program:
- Procurement. Green bean sourcing from our current importers and direct coffee trade. Establish and maintain green specifications.
- Production. Maintain coffee production schedule and manage staff of 3-4. Fulfill the role of lead roaster and manage 2 production apprentice roasters.
- Packaging. Manage coffee and tea packaging and order fulfillment.
- Quality control. Work closely with our QC Manager to assure the highest standards in coffee for our retail and wholesale customers.

The position also plays a key role in coffee education, starting within the Company and extending to the community and industry in general.

About the Candidate
Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years experience as a lead roaster, including sourcing, selecting, and buying green coffee. Q-grader certification is preferred. Experience on Diedrich and Loring machines preferred, with Cropster use a plus.
