Cameron’s Coffee Company, is seeking a full time, hourly, Production Roaster for our third shift. Cameron’s is a roasting facility that receives, roasts, packages, and ships premium coffee. This job contributes to Cameron’s Coffee success by operating an automated coffee roasting system for green, roasted or ground coffee and modifying the roasting schedule as needed to support immediate and future packaging requirements. This person is expected to act in accordance with the company’s guiding principles.
Cameron’s Coffee is a premium coffee roaster that is headquartered and based in Shakopee, Minnesota.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
• Performs troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and sanitation procedures.
• Conducts internal recall investigations for product not meeting specifications.
• Ensures compliance with Cameron’s Coffee roast profiles. Participates in daily and/or weekly tastings (cuppings) with relevant personnel to develop and maintain coffee expertise.
• Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Operates the green, roasted or ground coffee platform of the roasting system as they are implemented in accordance with business growth.
• Maintains the optimum packaging machine uptime, while avoiding coffee aging and de-gassing issues. Maintains relevant records..
• Minimizes production scrap, including materials and coffee product.
• Maintains a safe, clean and organized work environment. Operates roasting equipment with safety devices in place, and follows all safety procedures and regulations.
• Willingness to champion other activities as requested by operations, engineers and Cameron’s leaders.
• Employees are responsible for maintaining an awareness of workplace safety and maintaining an awareness of training or education that will assist them in improving needed areas of their present job performance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Experience
• Operation of manual and automated processing equipment using personal computer-based control systems (2 years)
• Gathering, recording and reporting on operational and quality metrics, through manual or automated systems (2 years)
• Operation of at least three of four roasting platforms (roasting, grinding, green coffee delivery or roasted coffee delivery) (2 years)
• Regulated food manufacturing environment (2 years)
• Performing quality tests using analytical tools (1 year)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Coffee Industry experience is a must
• Basic math skills
• Ability to follow verbal direction
• Ability to understand written policies and guidelines, specifications and safety standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Internet environments
• Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot minor machine failures and make minor adjustments
• Familiarity with American Institute of Baking (AIB), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards
• Ability to perform quality tests using analytical tools
• Ability to gather, record and report on operational and quality metrics, through manual or automated systems
• Ability to work in accordance with quality, safety, and sanitation standards, policies and guidelines
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be open to working alternative shifts as the business needs change with growth of the company
Compensation /Benefits:
• Full time hourly. $15-$25 / hr depending on experience and qualifications.
