Hello Everyone! We are looking to replace a long time production roaster at Peace coffee. We are a team of three(coffee roasters), so you will be a very important part of our roasting process. Our production space is busy, but we hold quality roasting to a high standard. As a Peace roaster you will know where your coffee comes from, and the people who produce it. We hold long term sourcing relationships with our producers. Quality green coffee is very important, but supporting coffee farmers season to season during quality fluctuation is also very important for us. We roast on Diedrich, Primo, and Renegade roasting machines. You will start on the Primo. Thanks for reading. If you have any questions for me please send them. Good luck on your roasts!

Peace Coffee Job Description Title: Production Roaster
Purpose: To roast coffee to exact specifications as determined by Head Roaster, aide in the upkeep of roasting equipment and production environment, and to advance the craft of roasting.
Reports To: Head Roaster
Position Classification: Full-time, non-exempt, benefits eligible
Job Responsibilities Essential Duties (98%)

1. Roasting Coffee: be proficient at the craft of roasting. (75%)
a. Stage green coffee to meet daily production schedules
b. Roast coffee daily according to specifications set by the Head Roaster
c. Blend appropriate roasted coffees and follow daily special instructions
d. Perform quality control protocols per Head Roaster instructions
e. Participate in the on-going development of profile roasting and quality control

2. Coffee Roasting Machines: aide in the upkeep of roasting equipment. (10%)
a. Perform daily maintenance as needed for optimum machine capability
b. Participate in periodic extensive cleanings of roasting equipment
c. Address mechanical errors as they occur

3. Production Environment: aide in the upkeep of the production environment. (5%)
a. Assist in the cleaning of roasting accessories (trash cans, white bins, etc.) and alert other production
staff of these tasks when needed
b. Assist in the cleaning of the production warehouse and lab area
c. Other duties as assigned

4. Continual Education and Ongoing Development: help advance the craft of roasting (5%)
a. Taste and evaluate roasting profiles
b. Record roasting data and perform QC protocols as requested by Head Roaster to be analyzed as part
of ongoing education and roaster development
c. Participate in team and staff meetings

Non-Essential Duties (2%)
5. Coffee Production: to aide in the daily production of coffee. (3%)
a. Assist in the bagging of roasted whole bean and ground coffee
b. Assist in the grinding of roasted whole bean coffee
c. Other duties as assigned

6. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned (2%)
 High school diploma, or equivalent, required
 Passion for Peace Coffee’s mission and producing quality coffee
 Previous experience working in coffee is desired
 Mechanical experience desired
 Must work well independently and as part of a team
 Basic math and computer skills
 Ability to solve problems and attention to detail required
 Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner
Physical Requirements Needed to Perform Position Function:
 Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, on occasion up to 75 pounds.
 This job requires standing, bending, walking and lifting on a continuous basis throughout the day
