Cupping Grind

I'm going to start to work on the cupping grind standard. One thought I had was I was to ask a bunch of you that cup to send me a sample of your cupping grind I would need at least 100 grams of you cupping grind. Than what I'm going to do is run it thru grind sieve to see were it falls. This will be how we start working on the proper cupping grind. With that info we will than get a team of cuppers together and start cupping to see which one of them works best. Like I said Im in the process of getting together ideals of how to start making a better or confirm the current protocol .

I assume a few of you are asking what the Hell is Marty up to now. I feel that some times we are so hung up on the politics we forget to ask our members what they are looking for in a protocol so your chance is here and now or at least till I'm removed form the S & S committee.

Stellar standard concept, I will for sure send ground samples. Are you also taking into account the grinders used for this standard. If a cupping grind is and has a standard than, with that thought process the grinder used should be standardized to ensure consistency. Im not sure what grinder that may be and I'm not about to endorse one over another. I do strongly believe that the grinder is a huge element to this factor.

Any thoughts??

I could agree with grinder type perhaps, but I think that standardizing the exact brand is unnecessary in this case. I imagine that we are looking specifically at the spectrum of particle size. Marty. I still owe you a sample.
