Hopper clogging

I have an SF-1 I just procured and suffered a complete blockage of the feeding tube while roasting. Anyone had this complication before? I have put through about 4 lbs prior to clog. This is an early 2000's model. I was able to ultimately get it unstuck though i had to shut down and shove a rod down to clear it. Resulted in a discharge of roasted and unroasted beans. On the next roast i noticed a hang up of beans again at the bottom of the feed tube i had to manually clear into the drum. Was it operator error or should I be concerned? I will shoot San Franciscan an email tomorrow but I wanted to check with you guys first. Thanks in advance.
