Last time I was there we went through Mt. Hagen (Waghi Valley, Western Highlands areas) 1st from Port Moresby and stayed there a couple of days before making the drive to Goroka (Eastern Highlands). Great experience. We went with a group (including Wendy, Ian from VSC at the time and Lindsey (GMCR). Seemed pretty straight forward. Email me if you need any other details.
